The Deal Meter
A sale sticker is easy. A real deal is a price lower than what the product usually sells for. The Deal Meter compares today's price with that product's own 90-day median, the way a Geiger counter compares a reading with background.
The verdicts
- UNUSUALLY LOW: today's price is at least 15% under the product's own 90-day median.
- Normal: within the usual range.
- Above usual: 5% or more over the median.
- Fake sale? The brand shows a "compare at" price, but our 30+ days of history show the "sale" price is simply its everyday price.
- Warming up: fewer than 14 days of history, so no verdict yet.
We use the lowest in-stock price among a product's sizes or options for each day. The median is over up to 90 recorded days.
